VHS

While doing some crawl space cleaning, hubby came across the old VCR.
We had a few VHS tapes and thought the girls would like to check them out.
They were flabbergasted.
They couldn't figure it out for a bit.
They laughed and giggled at the confounded contraption.
We giggled with old age.
We are being dated daily.

Stop Motion Claymation

Homeschooling offers us so much flexibliity.
I especially love that we can challenge any topic we want and do it at our pace.
K and E both have been loving to make movies lately.
I have hours of movies downloaded that they have created with elaborate scripts, and enlisting every friend that comes over to be part of.

I remember being thrilled to be able to record my voice on my ghetto blaster onto a tape.

We found a few great iPad stop motion apps as well.
This had proven to be really fun.

I am proud of these girls and all that they achieve.

Checking in with the Turkeys

I realized as I was watching our turkeys this morning that most people do not get to see them just hanging around, doing their thing.

Our turkeys are super friendly have plenty of character.

They chirp and gobble as they wander around the yard, trying to get your attention.

It is funny to watch them run, they are so awkward, but even funnier is to see them perched up high on their house at night. But Pretty soon they'll be to big to fly up.

We raise our turkeys free range in an acre and a half pen. They have the run of the pen, and get to eat whatever they feel, except my garden.

They have plenty of trees and brush for shade and protection from predators such as the eagles that keep checking them out.

Turkeys are fun but finicky to raise. We get them as chicks and they as so sweet and tiny. Then they grow and looks so gawky.

We lost 3 so far which was hard for us as we hadn't lost any before. I think the rest are quite stable now and we shouldn't have any more troubles.

They have all been named and have become a part of the family.

The girls will be sad when they go but they understand and appreciate the circle of life. They learn so much from them and all our animals.

I should mention that this is my first blog video so bare with me. And as I was making it a jet flew over and the other noise at the end is me snapping my fingers to get their attention.
