Road Trip

We had the opportunity to go on a holiday, short notice but we knew where we wanted to go.
We packed up the van and headed south.

We put on just shy of 5500 kms in 12 days and made it down to San Diego and everywhere in between.

Beaches, hotels and lots of pools...... and reststops!

SOme days we drove for 12-15 hours and the kids were absolutely perfect.
I kept expecting meltdowns or any such thing but not even one.

It was a grand Road Trip, A perfect family Holiday.
Memories were made.
And duty free was great too

Birds Nest and Spring Cleaning

Now that spring is here, I am feeling like i had to clean.
I have my yard and garden in order, transplanted most things from the greenhouse over the weekend.
Just before the deluge of crazy rain we have been having.
Hubby has been busy building flower beds and clearing for the new orchard, not to forget the huge fire pit gazebo as well.

I have been trying to gut the house out as well.
The girls drawers are sorted and old clothes are donated.
My closet has been rummaged through and re-organized, i love that feeling.
House is cleaned in corners that haven't seen sunlight since last fall.
And the windows have all been washed.

Photos sorted and schooling coming to and end.
Finalizing loose ends and clearing the way for new one.

But the one thing that keeps getting away from me is my blog.
I have, and it clearly states, 148 posts ready to go.
I download photos and sort into posts.
I always have intentions of filling each post with lovely written quips and insights.

But by the time i get to it, a scrap of a moment with the kids perched around me and night-time getting later and later, nothing of my vision seems to transpire.

So I am going to purge my drafts and inundate the blog, so that i am up to date and free and clear to write as I please.

Cheers!!

Traveling Raw

One thing about Raw food is that its usually quite perishable.
When we travel anywhere, for a day or a week, I have to tote along quite the kit bag.
It can be humorous when my food bag is bigger than my suitcase.
There are quite a few more raw food places popping up, but they are pricey and they can be quite dicey with quality.
I have noticed quite a few little businesses selling pre-made raw treats, I like that.
But for the most part its up to me.

Quick Crafts

Kids had fun with this old style craft idea.
I nailed a bunch of tiny nails into a shape, in this case a heart and gave each kid a spool of thread and let them mind it any way they chose.
Turned out to be a lovely travelling craft, works well in the car as its clean and doesn't need any supervision.

The next day we took some tin beer bottles someone left in our recycling.
We glued patterns and designs on and let set (although next time I think I will try the hot glue gun instead).
Once all dried I spray painted them.
That's it, that's all!!!
