Birthday Cake

My dear friend had a birthday last month and I made this sweet little orange cream cake.
It was my first attempt at ombre fondant and it worked quite well.
K wants her cake this way this year.

Little niece turned two!!

Grabbed a fondant lady bug.

Tasted it.

Second thought...not so yummy.

Put it back.

No-one  will ever notice.

Jelly Roll

Im pretty sure hubby is thrilled that K is in the kitchen because she makes so many things that i would never allow.
She made this sponge cake jelly roll all on her own and even cleaned most of the mess up herself.

She loves being able to find any recipe and just make it.

Too bad i'm raw because that sure looked good.

E turns 7

 Our littlest angel turned 7 yesterday.
I am a bit on shock.

 Where did that just go?

 E wanted a Pixie party.
We made a cake according to her specific desires!!
We made purses for all the goodies.

 We made tutus.

 And K made special wands, each with a magical power.

 We decorated and the sun was out.
It was a perfect Pixie party indeed.

Another Cake

I can only laugh at how many of these I have made.
I can get one made from oven to table in under 2 hours.
I'm not super proud of this talent, but I does bring in a couple extra bucks.

Thanksgiving

K spent hours paper macheing up this special cornucopia centrepiece for our family dinner.
I love how it turned out.
It will be in our family for years to come.

We spent hours preparing out favourite foods on new and exciting ways.
We hosted outside and it was a perfect fall day/evening to do so.
The weather has been just dreamy as of late.

The girls and I made an apple print table cloth for the buffet table.
Another treasure for years to come.

The girls got these branches and put them in a jug.
Then cut out leafs for our guests to fill out and attach to the "tree".

Reading them afterwards was such a treat.
I love how creative my girls are becoming on their own.

This dessert was something I saw and had to try.
A sort of tres leche cake/pumpkin cake.
OMG!!
Our new Thanksgiving goody!

And E had to carve a pumpkin.

There was no way around it.

She had this in mind and was able to cut it herself, after she cleaned it all out and saved the seeds.

Ok....I have to say how proud I am.

This was a perfect day to be thankful for so many things.

This Mama Turned 37

Yup....Im getting old, older, almost over the hill!
Ask  my kids and they'd say I was an antique already.
I feel old this year, more so than any other year.
I feel wiser too.
I feel comfortable in my own skin (all of it).
And i feel that I am worthy and know I am loved.
Life is perfectly wonderful and Im glad to have the honour of getting old.
