Art Party

I love decorating for parties.
The theme was an "Art Party", so I made paper splatter paint splotches all over the walls and decorated
the room full of colurs and supplies.
Hung brushes from the windows to add a fun new touch.

And lots of balloons and streamers of course.
It was a perfect painting party and all the kids had fun.

Squeezing in Some Me Time for Art

I love trying new things.
Cutting canvass has been a great new craft that I can see so many  exciting potentials with.

I had a moment to prep a canvass in hopes to one day soon get a picture I've been dreaming of down.

These hanging books keep popping up everywhere so of course I had to try one!!

And here is a finished canvass, nit my favourite but done for now.

Reckless Painting- Kids Class

A group of pre-teens doing some Reckless Painting .

They really got into it and i think it was great for them to let loose and have some fun.

At this age most tell me that they are not creative.

This proves to them that indeed they are!!

And that it is FUN!!

Art Lab

The window is ever changing.
I love to take pics and hope to one day make a collage with them all.

I had a wonderful private session a while back.
This dear sweet lady had overcome a lot in the past couple of years.
We spent some time playing and getting to know her supplies and the paint.
She was so timid and said she was actually "scared".
But after a while she started to giggle and let loose.
She let out a chip and a yell and then got so excited.
"I really just did that!!"
I know she had a moment in her life just for her.
I hope she is still enjoying herself, and being creative!!

Paint Lab

I always seem to forget  my camera, so am at the mercy of my iPhone.
These are taken from a class for beginning painting where we were getting to know our paint and supplies while learning about primary, secondary and tertiary colours as well as blending techniques.
Kids really like to get into the paint!!

Rodondo

I slowly paid off a painting that I fell in love with over Instagram.
Posted by a local art studio, Art Alchemy, I put this painting by Tammie Hunter on lay-away.
Now that I have finally paid it off, the painting has found it's home above the hearth in our living room.

Welcome home Rodondo.

Reckless Painting Class

Another Reckless Painting class, held last week was quiet but so lovely.

SOme real breakthroughs for the artists, and some really unorthodox, new techniques were tried.

Layers upon layers of paint applied in various ways makes for very unique and non-conforming mini masterpieces.
