It has been 3 months since Jenn, our most beautiful, loving, spirited and brave friend, passed away.
I have never learned so much from one one person.
My heart broke when cancer took her away from her son and husband, from this beautiful world, from all of us who loved her.
I have been waiting for the right time to gather all my thoughts into a post but realize that there is just too much.
So today I am starting with a project I finished.
A project that Jenn started.
Jenn was a talented artist and an amazing quilter.
Among many things, this was one passion we shared.
When Jenn was diagnosed, I organized a project that would result in a quilt.
A quilt that love built was made of squares that many of her friends had made and myself and another friend transformed these random pieces of love into one great blanket.
Ironically a couple days before we were going to give Jenn her quilt she gave me one.
That was not only a surprise but just about the nicest thing anyone has done for me.
I mean she was ill and still took the time to put love and energy into a quilt.
This is now a treasure in my household.
My quilt with her signature heart piece.
This is Jenn.
She wore that quilt till the end and was warmed by its love and strength that was woven into every fibre.
I asked to finish them for the intended people, because I know what a quilt form Jenn means.
This is Melissa's quilt.
Melissa is Jenn's sister in law and was there through thick and thin till the bitter end.
She is stronger than anyone I know.
And as Melissa wraps herself in this quilt she knows that she is holding a piece of Jenn and that Jenn is holding her.
