So nice when someone gives you flowers for no reason at all, except to say "thank you for being you"!!
I feel pretty darn special.

Garden Tidbits

Lap Books This Term

 E has been loving doing lapbooks like her big sister.
So much so almost everything gets made into one now.

 But I just love them.

K did a great study on the 7 Ancient wonders of the World.
I think I learned just as much as she did.

 E's pile of school work/booklets this year.

 K's book/paper work this term.

 Great lapbook on Rome we did, we were transported back to the ancient life and learned so much.

 A quick couple day study on whales.

 E has such fun and colourful projects.

This is what the schooling closet looks like at the end of this term.
Gotta sort through all this and get ready for next year.

Nightstand Re-do

K wanted, and needed, a night stand for her new room.
Since she has a white theme going on, the table had to be white.
This was actually harder to find than I thought.
Especially under $100.

I ended up taking her to the thrift store.
For $5.99 we found this amazing table, it was brown and ugly, but I could see it's potential.

SO out came the paint box from the shop.
I taught K how to prep (although I ended up prepping it) and together we painted it.
She did most of the work and was so proud of herself.

Now she has her ideal white nightstand, made to perfection.
She is one happy pre-tween.

Warning!! Boob Cake

 Started the afternoon with a project for a friends stag party on the weekend.
His fiance, an incredibly amazing lady if I do say so myself, asked me to help make him a naughty cake.

Ran into problems at the beginning with crappy pans for the tata's but with the magic of butter cream icing I made it work just fine.

 It was quite a bit of fiddling around initially but super fun non the less!
Now I can add it to my cake resume.

 After the fondant (pictures courtesy my eldest lady) I had to make a pattern for the bra.

 I used sugar paper in zebra but I really didn't like it at all, but was committed at that point, so it stayed.
But never again.

 SO what do you make for a redneck hunter for his stag?
A set of boobies in a camo shirt with a pearl and Browning logo necklace.

Hope he likes it.
They are going camping way out in the back 40 and have to boat in and stuff.
Bringing this cake along must have been a real treat! heehee.

Baby Robins

 We were incredibly lucky.
When we were at camp someone showed up this little secret.

A silly mama robin built her nest not 3 feet from the ground, odd but advantageous for us.
We got to peak in on these little miracles.

 3 of them all nestled up, trying to keep warm in the cool morning air.
Mama bird kept a noisey vigil, so we didn't stay long.

 Perfect jumping point for a lap-book this week.
