Welcome 2011

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas.
We have been having some serious family time and lots of R&R.
Seldom do we get to spend this much time together, on holidays and with not much to do in the chore department.
We are definitely soaking it up.

To go back a few days and re-cap quickly (since I have neglected the blogging)

Que the auctioneers voice over........

We had a quiet Christmas morning at home spoiled in every way...

Full of treasures, laughs and love,
What a great way to start the day.

Then a quick clean up before we locked up the place,

Headed for the ferry, made it in time without any haste.

We went to Vancouver to join the family clan,

Treated to a huge dinnerat aunties, more gifts and then back in the van.

Headed to Nana and Papa's to open MORE presents,

Ones wrapped with lovely handmade (and recyclable) wrapping that the girls made, to show what they represent.

While the kitty got into mischief of one kind or another...

I chatted on the phone to my aunts, uncles and brother.

Deep breathe!!

I have so many thing to catch up on but have just given the brief overview.

And too many pictures to choose from, so decided to go for the story board of simple.

( I have a few moments to kill so give me this creative moment....I apologize...)

I think the wine is catching up with me...he-he-he.

Announcer!?!

Spent a few days in the city and came home to deal with the flood,

the crawl space that we neglected, closing the door to the mud.

Tore down the decorations, did a few yard chores,

cleaned the house, sorted gifts and headed to the grocery stores.

Cleaned out closets and toy chest, donated and consigned,

not a corner of the house wasn't dusted and shined.

The season is over and for that I am happy,

We have so much to be thankful for but I don't want to get to sappy.

As the year winded down we got our selves ready,

for an evening of fun, some drinks and a party.

In our house it's different, we celebrate with our girls,

create family memories, and mesh our two worlds.

They stay up till midnight to help ring in the year,

standing outside with sparklers, all full of festive cheer.

The dancing was fun,

The faces even better,

The sparklers shining brightly,

In the freezing midnight weather.

Kisses, hugs and a song or two,

Another year upon us, boasting all things anew.

I hope my tacky poem is making you snicker,

My girls are finally asleep, I too need to..........bah?(i got nothing for this verse).... go to bed.



Here is a tradition that seems to keep going, Sundae Waffles!!

This year made with home made ice cream from J's snazzy new automatic ice cream maker.

The weather has been incredible lately, cold and sunny.

Today we headed up a local decommissioned ski hill to do a few sledding runs with the kids.

The dogs had just as much fun playing in the snow.

Now that I have captured a bit of what has been going on around here,

I feel that I can begin posting without the guilt of it all piling up.

Nothing like an all in one 2 week catch up.
