The Amazing Art Work of Rene

My sisters live in Quebec.
I don't see them, or my niece and nephew, very often.
It makes me sad.

Recently one of these angels took a trip across the country with her new beau Rene, in a van full of treasures and adventures.
Marianne introduced me to her man and I instantly knew he is her forever man.
He is perfect for her.
She is perfect for him.

All I knew about him before he came was his name and that he is a painter.

When he showed us some of his work.
I was in awe.

These pictures do not even begin to show the sheer size of each piece.

The details are intense and each paint stroke captivating.

His talent is like no other I have seen.
Each painting has so much in it, so many meanings, so much detail.
I feel like I had a window into his mind while looking at them.
He has a gallery in Montreal but is a quiet, introspective artist who is happy just painting.
The perfect starving artist type.

They set up home base for a week in our yard and we got to visit, eat, garden, sing and juggle our way through the days.

Now they are at Burning Man and then headed home to drop off their stuff and fly to India for 3 months.

I miss those kind of spontaneous and carefree adventure of my kidless life held.
But I wouldn't trade this life for the world.
I already have the world, right here in my home.

And look E is an artist too....
