Starting to get Caught Up and Enjoy the Seaon

I saw these wonderful Winter Magic photos by photographer Per Breiehagen on one of my daily blog stops at Sacred Lotus.
Stop by Per's site to see both Winter Magic 1 & 2 to see some truly amazing and fun winter scenes.
Reminds me a bit of Jan Brett.

Gifts are flying off my sewing machine lately, and I am excited as today I attempted my first pair of mitten.
Prototype successfully done and ready for mass sewing.
I can't wait to share these little beauties with you guys, you may even get a pair for Christmas.

I also made a few scarves.
I have always had a fascination with old keys.
Where did they come from?
What did they open and where did it lead to?
I remember one that come with the house I grew up in as a child and it was a treasure to me, one I wish I could have kept.
I drew this key and appliqued it to this lovely fabric for a gift for a friends birthday tomorrow.

I should make a couple for myself because each one I make I think, "Gee I like that, and boy it would look great on me...." but have to remember that they are gifts and I would get nowhere on my list if I only sewed for myself.

This is for a certain someone special and if they see it here before Christmas they will know it is for them...the bird will give it away. (SO pretend you didn't see it)
