Out of my tiny kitchen's window there was a backhoe digging up the path and removing dirt for our kitchen
reno.

We are adding double the space to our kitchen because when a family of four has about 40 square feet for a kitchen, room is
definitely needed.
As an added bonus.. while the machine was working away we removed some old concrete around our garage for a future renovation project.

Added bonus, to my surprise, J had it planned to plumb in water to the garden and greenhouse.
Although it left quite the mess, we now have water in the greenhouse sink and a water main post at the garden.
So nice not to have to run hoses and pack water buckets anymore.
What a luxury!

But I did have to say a quick goodbye to a ratty old flower bed out front.
Funny thing is that J has wanted it gone forever and I have, for some odd reason, been reluctantly holding on to it.
The cement truck couldn't get by it so J eager gave the go ahead to dismantle it.
I was able to salvage a few plants before it was torn apart.

I do have to admit it does look a lot better there now that it is gone.
But the rest of the yard around the house looks the shambles.
Too many broken eggs for this chicken I tell ya!
