Viva Las Vegas

It may have seemed a bit odd for us to decide to go to Las Vegas in the first place as it is not really our "thing", and it seemed odder that we would pick the hottest time of the year to venture forth to a dessert (which, I might add, was experiencing their hottest weather on record), but it was absolutely a great idea.
Although we walked more miles than I could keep count of, E actually went through 2 pair of flip flops, we saw all there was to see and ate our way across the strip and back again.
Well J and the girls did, I pretty much starved.
Vegas was not a RAW food friendly city as I had been told, but that is another story.

I celebrated my 35th birthday and we had our 10th wedding anniversary in true Vegas fashion complete with Elvis as our officiant.
So absolutely fun but I am so happy to be home.

I needed to eat first and foremost and spent the day doing chores, errands, laundry and un-cooking up a storm to fill the fridge with RAW delights.

Another thing I missed was water because I drink copious amounts of water and felt parched with the mixture of no decent water or juice to drink and the bone drying heat.

We missed the animals, especially the kitties.
We had a wonderful family house sit for us and they left the house immaculate and so well loved you could feel the energy when we walked in.
In 10 days the garden has gotten out of control and I have my work cut out for me next week.

I was hoping to come home to breathe in some fresh ocean air but instead it is smoggy smokey air from all the forest fires and it is ominous to say the least.

I have so much to say about our holiday, travelling with kids, eating out for over a week straight etc. and I have over 600 photos of our adventures in Vegas but I don't think it all really matters.
We had a great time and although it isn't the most relaxing, it was wonderful to get away and to be together.
I totally agree with the saying "we need a holiday from a holiday."

A very few photos of the trip (which is being made into a lap book for Katie's grade 2 1st term project.)

Ferry to Vancouver.
First flight for the girls and the first flight for me without a panic attack (YEAH!!)

Limo to vow renewal.

What a cute couple don't you think?

My hunka hunka burnin' love.

Shopping!!!!

THE sign.

One of the many drinks.

One of the million casinos.

One of a kind mini Elvis.
I had a dare to see how many Elvis's I could kiss.
I think I only got 6.

The pools.

The shows.

The trip home.
Tanned, exhausted and broke.
Pretty much a perfect way to leave it.
