Kitty and Treats

Everyday I take pictures to post about our little wonders but keep reminding myself that most people don't really care about the daily progress of wee kitties.
I have decided that a once a week update is suffice.

One week old today and their eyes are just starting to open.
I am in awe, so in love with little creatures.
It is going to be harder on me to give them up than it will be for the kids.
As I hold them and the nicknames keep coming as each their personalities become more apparent, I keep having to give the chat about when they will have to leave but I believe it is more for my sake then the girls.

This is Storm.
And she may well become our 4Th cat if all goes according to K's plans.

My RAW World

I haven't really posted much about eating RAW but I get so many requests for recipes and ideas that I thought I may start a weekly post dedicated to such.

Welcome to My RAW World, where I live, eat and sleep among the unRAw and still manage to define my dietary needs (and don't just eat crackers and veggies)without much trouble.

The first thing people almost always ask me is how do I find the time, and my answer is that you just do.

This months marks my 6Th month of eating 100% RAW.
I have become well versed in the Raw world and have my favorite recipes and cookbook authors pretty well figured out.
I can create recipes from almost all ingredient in the RAW diet as I have figured out the flavours and food combining thing rather well.
Not as easy as one might think initially.
I have established my routine and have a huge repertoire of dishes that I prepare and share to those who happen to stop in.

My garden is my haven of RAW goodness and for that I am grateful.
However I still desire, not really crave per say, but enjoy and indulge frivolously in chocolate.

Today I experimented with a Liquid Chocolate recipe and found many great treat ideas that are the same or even better than the not Raw version.

These chocolate covered cherries were delish.

And the quintessential hippy kids treat, frozen chocolate covered banana.

I found a great special on mangoes and they were so ripe I had to process them immediately...hence the price I guess.
But they made for terrific Mango Sherbet.

And this frozen delight, Key Lime Bar. MMMM!!!
A perfect array of summer treats as the weather man says we are in for a heat wave.
The girls think they have hit the jackpot as they are generally allowed to eat all these RAW treats and any others on hand, anytime they want because really they are very good for them and I love that they enjoy it so much.
Here's to healthy eating by treating.
