Wintery Forage

There are so many amazing artists out there.
I drool over many pieces of artwork in galleries and shops but seldom do I dole out the cash, although they are worth it.
I usually walk away with the postcard size replica to satisfy me but am not ever fulfilled.
Today I invested in a local artist and bought this piece that spoke volumes to me.

I swear I met this raven in the Charlotte's and now here he is on canvass for me to oogle till my hearts delight.

The way he stands and his demeanor are so familiar and characteristically true for all ravens, but the glint in his eye is my raven for sure.
The one I used to have lunch with on a bench overlooking the ocean, sharing sandwiches and our silent thoughts.
I felt the bond between us and miss our rendevous'.

Now I have this beautiful painting in my hall that will meet whomever enters our home for years to come.
