Late Afternoon Fishing (and skunked again)

I have always loved fishing.
Before kids J and I had spent many hours together doing just that.
A sense of peace and oneness with nature, plus the thrill of the catch is the allure for me.

When we lived in the Queen Charlotte's I used to fish, just me and our dog, for hours a day while J was at work.
I have so many wonderful memories of the great fishing there and I tell them all like an old man does.....you know back in the day......
You could literally drop a rod in any water source and catch a fish.

We have tried to give the girls a well rounded outdoor education.
I feel fishing instills patience and resourcefulness as well as in our case, sometimes disappointment.
If nothing else we get to spend the time by the water in the fresh air, together and having fun.
Looking at the scenery is wonderful too.

We have tried every year to get K to land a fish.
She has had no luck other than the fish in the barrel at the Rod and Gun Club.
Today was no different, but this time she was so eager because we saw them jumping all around us.
So we will try again, maybe tomorrow.
The fishing rods are still in the van and ready to go.
