Playing in the Lake

I had the good fortune to grow up just down the road from Comox Lake.
I spent many summers playing, swimming and hanging out there, as it was the place to be during the summer heat.

Even now I find it is fun to go to the lake for the afternoon and share in it with my kids.
It rekindles my youth to watch them play and to see the joy water and sand can bring on a hot day.

But I remember my days as a fledgling youth, with the freedom of summer.
The emotional chaos and desire to make your mark as you navigate through the social confusion of teenage-hood.
I dread when I may one day see my ladies in bikinis on the dock, laughing and playing around with their friends and some boys.
OOHHH!!! I ache to think of crushes, possible broken hearts and the angst of youth.
Till then I will hold them close to me and take in as many cuddles as they will allow.
I know I have years to go but I can see it starting already as they are finding their way and making their own paths.

I love happy smiley laughs.

I love the bliss in this picture.
The sun setting and the wind in the hair makes this picture so touching.
You can almost hear the joy.

How much fun can you have on an evening boat ride?
Too much really!!
Thank you Uncle P.
The love of my life, my main squeeze and the light in my eyes!!! xxxooo

J and E had a great time tubing behind the boat.
I am still not sure that I necessarily agree with a 3 year old on a tube being dragged behind a boat at high speeds.
J was with her and I had to sit back and intensely watch with a hollow feeling in my tummy.
She was so excited and so absolutely thrilled I think we have a speed junkie on our hands.

The ladies and me warming up after a swim.

Before we headed to the lake for the evening we took in a local attraction.

Watching the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride was interesting and entertaining.
A great show in support of local causes, but a bit of a recruitment drive.
The horses were so majestic and sleek. They are well trained and extremely talented.
Quite a spectacle to see.
